LIFE IS A GIFT

Our soul has a voice.  A message.

For me my message… my purpose, is to inspire my community and remind them of the fucking badass that they are.  My message started from the day that I was born and has been constantly evolving and expanding with ongoing accumulations of life experiences.

Some experiences crumbled me to the floor in tears while others elevated me by taking my breath away with joy.  We all want more of those fun and exciting moments in our life. But it is a proven fact, that our hardest experiences bring us the most growth.  Those moments when we step out of our comfort zone and stress our being, are the moments we expand and grow.

I see this on a weekly basis with my athletes that I coach.  As I progressively load my athlete’s weekly schedule with intensity and duration of their workouts, and then add a recovery week, it is then that I see the biggest jump in their fitness performance.  It’s a science and it fucking works ALL the time.  It’s called progressive overload.  And listen, I know, my clients bitch and curse my name when they see their long or intense workouts. Nobody wants to get out of their comfort zone. It’s fucking hard! Yet they do it anyways as they know what’s on the other side of fear. Their goals, dreams, and who they want to be as an athlete and human.

This happens to me ALL the time in my own life. I am the biggest brat at complaining when I don’t want to get out of my comfort zone. Through the years, I’ve learned that my toughest races and training sessions, made me into a better athlete.  In my own life, enduring my father’s depression as a teenager and then finding meaning to life after his suicide in my last year of college, made me want to succeed even more in my own life.

Yes, life is hard, unfair, and uncertain.

Covid-19 pandemic is reminding all of us of this.  Each of us globally is affected by corona. We are all experiencing it. Nobody is untouched.

My question to you, how do you want to come out on the other side of covid-19 pandemic?

How are you showing up?

As an athlete and IRONMAN coach, with races and events canceled, I am using this time wisely to improve my athlete’s fitness level, techniques, strength training, and overall motivation to stay focused on the bigger picture.  I am showing up each day for my own health and the health of others around me.  Cause when races come back, let me tell you, my athletes are going to be fucking ready!

We are training for life, for when the lockdown reopens.

So motherfuckers, put the bag of chips down, turn off the TV, peel yourself out of the couch, wash your hair, put on some cloths other than a robe, and lets get to work.

We are who we are, due to our accumulations of life experiences.  Covid-19 is one of them, an ultimate test of endurance, resilience, and empathy.  This very moment is the time that counts to prepare you for the next phase.  Who do you want to be on the other side of this lockdown?

Your life is a gift.

You don’t know when you expire. Keep showing up for you soul’s voice. Your message. a
